An International Collaboration
Looking towards the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Swedish-Colombian relations in 2024, a consortium was established in 2022 between Universidad EAFIT in Medellìn, Colombia, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, under the patronage of SAAB AB, to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Aeronautics for Climate Change
Build an alliance between Sweden and Colombia to develop a “flying laboratory” for research in climate change.
Why Colombia?
Colombia is the second most biodoverse country in the world, according a study by the WWF.
Nevertheless, this biodiversity is in danger because of different anthropogenic activities, such as mining, agriculture, and livestock activity.
Also, the increasing urbanization and the rising urban emissions in the main cities demand an informed/smart decision.
The common methods to face these challenges are not completely applicable in Colombia because of the complex topography in the tropical Andean zone.
